Hello, and welcome to our video on the Florida Teacher Certification Exam: Professional Education. Passing this challenging test is a requirement for the FTCE for anyone wanting to be able to teach in the Professional Education realm in Florida. The test is made up of 8 sections: 1 Instructional design and planning, 2 Appropriate student-centered learning environments, 3 Instructional delivery and facilitation through a comprehensive understanding of subject matter, 4 Various types of assessment strategies for determining impact on student learning, 5 Relevant continuous professional improvement, 6 The Code of Ethics and principles of Professional Conduct of the Education Profession in Florida, 7 Research-based practices appropriate for teaching English Language Learners (ELLs), And 8, effective literacy strategies that can be applied across the curriculum to impact student learning. The exam consists of approximately 120 multiple choice questions and the test taker has 2 and a half hours to complete the test. There are three different types of questions on the exam. Direct questions simply require the best response option to be selected, sentence completion questions require the test taker to choose the answer that best completes the sentence, and finally, scenario questions which include a situation, problem, or case study, require test takers to choose the best answer based on the provided scenario.
